AMARILLO, Texas — Gladys Ruth Gardner, 80, died Nov. 28 at Bluebonnet Assisted Living in Amarillo, Texas. Born April 2, 1933, in Elbing, she was the daughter of Paul and Helen (Hawks) Binder. On June 12, 1954, she married Louis Edward Gardner in Hoisington. He died on July 19, 1995. A resident of Amarillo, Texas, since 2005, coming from Hoisington, she was a nurse technician for Clara Barton Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center.
Mrs. Gardner attended the First Christian Church in Hoisington. She was a member of the Black Powder Club.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Gardner of Hoisington and Daniel Gardner and his wife Susan of Springhill, Fla.; three daughters, Devita Gardner of Benton, Ark., Bobbi Gosser and her husband Jon and Rena Hutches and her husband John, both of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, John Binder of Wichita and Jerry Binder of Oregon; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Binder.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at the Hoisington Cemetery with Pastor Don Fisher officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
