HOISINGTON — Glenn Jake Brack, 90, died Feb. 1, 2016, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 7, 1925, the son of Emanuel H. and Dorothy Thracy (Seidl) Brack. Glenn graduated from Hoisington High School in 1943 and then served in the United States Navy during World War II.
A lifetime resident of Hoisington, he was a police officer for 34 years, with 12 years as the Chief of Police for the City of Hoisington, retiring in May of 1987.
Glenn was a member of the Hoisington Bible Church and the American Legion Post No. 286.
He married Thelma D. Gruber Koeller on Aug. 19, 1957, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma Brack; a son, Burton Todd Brack, of Salina; a daughter, Breta Markay Nunez; six grandchildren, Kyle Brack, Krystyne Brack, Derrick Brack, Brandon Brack, Justin Nunez, and Jazmin Nunez; and a sister, Eunice Dreher of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Vernon E. Brack, Clarence J. Brack, Alvin Brack, Ralph Brack, and Delmar Brack; and a sister, Margaret Kopke.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Clark presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hoisington Bible Church in care of the funeral home.
