Gloria A. Janatello, 87, died Aug. 29, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Sept. 12, 1926, in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Domingo and Ruth (Barth) Scotti. On Dec. 25, 1943, she married Peter Janatello in Great Bend. He died on Feb. 27, 2008. She was a lifetime resident of Great Bend and Barton County.
Mrs. Janatello was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Altar Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Anthony “Pete” Janatello and wife Betty of Middlebury, Ind.; two sisters, Norma Cofer of Garden City, and Rosina Helsel of Great Bend; two grandsons, Dan Janatello and wife Colleen, of Shawnee, Dominic Janatello and wife Robin, of Middlebury, Ind.; six great-grandchildren, Alexis Janatello, Anthony Janatello, Aidan Janatello, Matthew Janatello, Andrew Janatello, and Christopher Janatello. She was preceded in death by one infant sister; and one infant twin sister.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Trung Dinh Hoang (Father Louis) officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Prince of Parish or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
