Helen E. (Nickerson) Sharp, 81, died Dec. 13, at Diversicare of Larned. Born May 14, 1933, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Corbin and Elizabeth (Skirvin) Nickerson. On June 1, 1942, she married Bobby Dale Howard in Pratt. They were later divorced. She then married Robert Carl Sharp on June 21, 1975, in Great Bend. They were later divorced. A longtime resident of Great Bend, also residing in Las Vegas, Nev. and Larned, she served as a librarian and bus driver for the Radium School District and was a bookkeeper for Melvin Nuss. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Howard of Las Vegas, Nev., Darrell Howard and wife Donna of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Russell Howard and wife Ramona of Larned; three daughters, Elizabeth Rahm and husband David of Las Vegas, Nev., Barbara Weber of Okeene, Okla., and Sharon Woods of Wichita; one brother, John Nickerson and wife Trudy of Provo, Utah; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew Allen Howard and Mason James Howard; and by two brothers, James Nickerson and Corbin Nickerson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
