HOISINGTON — Helen R. Templing, 86, died June 16, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Jan. 31, 1929, she was the daughter of Alexander Lanier and Velma (Campbell) Chambers.  In 1946 she graduated from Otis Rural High School and then attended Fort Hays State College. On Oct. 18, 1953, she married Edwin D. Templing in Hoisington. He died May 25, 2007. A longtime resident of Hoisington, she was a homemaker.
Helen was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Emmanuel Women of the ELCA She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 7428.
Survivors include, a daughter, Rhonda Templing, Hoisington; a brother, Donald L. Chambers and wife Betty, Los Angeles, Calif.; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Templing) Justice Whitaker, Kingfisher, Okla.; cousin, Mae Carolyn Bopp, St. Louis, Mo.; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverends Richard Monson and Laura Smith presiding. Burial will follow at the Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or the Heartland Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
