LACROSSE — Helen Yost, 77 of La Crosse died March 17 at St. John’s Care Facility in Hays. Born Feb. 25, 1934 at her parents home in McCracken, she was the daughter of C. H. “Charlie” Marvin and Della Hendrix Marvin. She graduated from La Crosse Rural High School in 1952. On June 13, 1953, she married Howard Yost in La Crosse. She was the church organist, pianist and soloist at the Evangelical United Brethren Church and Columbia Street United Methodist Churches in La Crosse.
Mrs. Yost was a member of the Pro Art Music Club of La Crosse.
Survivors include by her husband, Howard, of La Crosse; three sons, Bradley of Blytheville, Ark., Dion of Sterling,and Trevor of Lawrence; a daughter Valerie Tuggle of Hoisington; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law, RoNel Meyer of Wamego; and several nieces and nephews. She was precededher in death by her brother, E. L. “Leon” Marvin; and her sister, Louise.
Celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse, with Pastor Gary Clark of Hoisington Bible Church presiding. Burial will be at the La Crosse City Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Hoisington Bible Church in care of the funeral home
