HOLYROOD — Henry J. E. Schultz, 91, died Oct. 2 in Hoisington. Born May 21, 1922, in Ellsworth County, he was the son of Adolph Sr. and Augusta (Bohl) Schultz. A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County, he was a farmer and stockman and a retired rural mail carrier. On Oct. 15, 1946, he married Edith Schepmann in Holyrood. She preceded him in death Dec. 31, 2010.
Mr. Schultz was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lutheran Laymen’s League, and life member and past commander of American Legion Post 200, all of Holyrood. He was also a member of 40 & 8 Voiture.
Survivors include three sons, Arlen and wife Karli, and Kevin and wife Deborah, both of Holyrood, and Loren and wife Doreen of Hoisington; two brothers, Eldon of Garden City and Adolph Jr. of Kanopolis; a sister, Velma Hubbard of Hobbs, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Holyrood. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery or American Legion Post 200, in care of the funeral home.
