LARNED —Herman J. Mausolf, 85, passed away July 7 at Hays Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1929 in Albert; the son of Herman E. and Anna D. Jurgensen Mausolf. A longtime area resident he was a Chief Security Officer at the Larned State Hospital, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Welcome Inn Senior Center, both of Larned and was also a former member of the Kansas Peace Officers Association. On Dec. 18, 1951 he married Waneta I. Suhler in Ellinwood. She survives.
Other survivors include; three daughters, Cheryl Rasmussen and husband Curtis, Jetmore, Linda Mausolf, Larned and Amy Kemp and husband Scott, Borger, Texas; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; a son, Craig; a brother, Virgil; two sisters, Mildred Jilg and Velma Morris and a grandson, Jeremy Rasmussen.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association, both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary.
