Howard Leroy 'Lee' Nutting 1955 - 2016

TIFF CITY, Mo. — Howard Leroy “Lee” Nutting, entered this world on Oct. 20, 1955, in El Dorado, the son of Clyde and Jane (Cox) Nutting. He departed this life on Dec. 19, 2016, at his home in rural McDonald County Mo., at the age of 61 years.
He spent his childhood in several different towns including Great Bend, where he attended most of his grade school years into high school moving to Bogue in 1973 and graduating from Bogue High School in 1974. He followed in his father’s footsteps working in the oilfields of Kansas and for Haliburton in Kansas and Cairo Egypt. On March 12, 1983, he married Kimberla Stephen and to this union two children were born, Stephanie and Marcus. They later divorced and Lee married Jane E. Massey on Aug. 14, 1993. In 1998, he and Jane moved to southwest Missouri, where he worked for Moark and then Simmons in Southwest City, Mo. until May of 2016.
Lee was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge #281 in Hill City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He always liked a good joke and even practical jokes played on him and on others by him. He thoroughly enjoyed becoming a grandfather, spending time with them, teasing them, and being called “Grandad.”
He is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; daughter Stephanie Lang and husband, Tyson, of Hays; son Marcus and wife, Morgan, of Cherokee; five grandchildren, Gavin Nutting, Ganessa and Garrett Lang and Keyli and Raiden Nutting; sister Pam Beckman and husband, John, of rural Miami, Okla.; brother Terry of Anderson, Mo.; uncle Bobby Ramsey and wife, Kay, of Lamar, Mo.; aunt Dorothy Nutting of Seneca, Mo.; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as other family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry and Jeffrey “Steve.” He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Brother Jared Proctor officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. Family and friends will gather at the Tiff City Community Building following the service for a time of fellowship. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Wildhorse Cemetery in Bogue. Following the graveside a meal will be served at the Bogue Methodist Church Dining Hall for all family and friends. Memorials are being directed to the Hill City Masonic Lodge #281 and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
