Jack Eldon Elmore 1921 - 2018

ROZEL — Jack Eldon Elmore, 96, passed away April 8, 2018, at his home in Rozel. He was born July 26, 1921, in Rozel, the son of Frank and Viola Ethel Smith Elmore. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer. He was an avid model Lionel train railroader. He loved his family and was a hard-working farmer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Gideon International, both of Rozel. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
On June 4, 1946, he married Amy Louise Lewis in Rozel. She died Oct. 29, 2017.
Survivors include, two sons, George (Kay) Elmore, Larned and Karl Elmore, Rozel; three grandchildren, Scott Elmore, Wichita, Christina (Mike) Arnone, Kearney, Mo., Amy Elmore, Rozel; and six great-grandchildren, Kourinza Elmore, Lawrence, Jaydin Elmore, Wichita, Dominic Arnone, Marcus Arnone, Vincent Arnone, all of Kearney, Mo. and Abigail Wanker, Larned. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rev. Eldon L. Elmore; daughter-in-law, Susan Elmore; granddaughter, Stacy Elmore Berends and two brothers, Mervin and Elvin Elmore.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Stan Bryant presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, with military graveside rites.
