Jack J. Ferrell, 65, died Dec. 24, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born May 22, 1950, at Great Bend, the son of  “A. J.” and  Ruth Ferrell. A Great Bend resident, he was a retired truck driver for Linde Transport and a private pilot.
Mr. Ferrell was a member of Safari Club International and the NRA. He enjoyed big game hunting in Africa, photography and telling stories.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Shawver of Augusta; a half-sister, Marilyn Kay Beal of Salt Lake City, Utah; four nieces and nephews, David Oetken and his wife Angela of Wichita, John Oetken and his wife Kristi of Great Bend, Dan Casebolt and his wife Stacey of Castle Rock, Colo., and Sara McIntire Ferrell of Denver, Colo.; stepmother Betty Ferrell of Dodge City; three stepsisters,  Diane Effertz, Great Bend, Debbie Millikan, Olathe, and Cindy Dobratz, Dodge City; a stepbrother, Randy Bombardier, Vancouver, Wash.; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents  “A. J.” and  Ruth Ferrell, and by one brother, Tommy Lee Ferrell.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle, officiant. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
