LARNED — Jack R. Dipman, 76, passed away March 20, 2017, at Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge.
Born Feb. 20, 1941, in Larned, he was the son of James Russell and Charlotte Elva Cooper Dipman. In 1959 he graduated from Larned High School. On April 21, 1982, he married Margaret Murphy in Great Bend. She survives. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired prison guard for the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility and part owner of the Butcher Block.
Mr. Dipman was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a past commander of the Burdett American Legion, a past board member of Golden Belt Telephone and Central States Scout Museum, and was an Eagle Scout.
Other survivors include three sons, Patrick (Molly) Dipman, Lawrence; Matthew (Kelsey) Dipman, Great Bend; and Gabriel Dipman, Larned; a daughter, Robyn Dipman, Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Chandler, Audrey and Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George (Sonny) Dipman.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life luncheon is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, at the VFW in Larned.
Private Inurnment will be in the Fort Dodge Veterans Cemetery in Fort Dodge at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Pawnee County Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
