ELLINWOOD — James “Jim” L. Clarke Sr., 70, passed away Sept. 5, 2016, in Wichita. Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Buffafo, New York, he was the son of Wade Clarke and Pauline (La Point) Musenbrock. He was a lifelong resident of Barton County where he worked as a truck driver in the oil field industry including 20 plus years at NCRA. On May 1, 1990, he married Carolyn (Myers) Clarke. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, David Codner (Maria), James Clarke Jr.; four daughters, Lisa Wettstein (John), Mary Hudson, Jerri Codner, Michelle Spaeth (John); a brother, Kenneth Dwyer; three sisters, Mary LeMieux, Dorothy Dane, Francis Whalen; three brothers-in-law, Dick Myers (Christy), Geno Pickenpaugh, Doug Myers; and a sister-in-law Debbie Boger. Jim was blessed with 17 grandchildren who gave him unmeasurable love and joy, Ashley, Miranda, Diedre, Cory, Joshua, Samantha, Clayton, Austin, Savannah, Alleigh, Jacob, Madelyn, Dominique, Jessica, Chelsea, Brianne, Belle; and two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law Richard Myers; and brother-in-law Tom Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Family will be receiving friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Minnis Chapel. Memorials are suggested as a love gift to the family in care of the funeral home.
