James Jim Melvin Tucker 1946 - 2012

ST. JOHN — James “Jim” Melvin Tucker, 66, died July 21 at his home in St. John. Born on Feb. 8, 1946 in Stafford, he was the son of Melvin A. and Ellen E. (Branham) Tucker. A life-long resident of St. John, he was an oil field worker and case manager for Rosewood Services in Great Bend. On Sept. 20, 1970, he married Donna M. Blanding at St. John. She survives of the home.
Mr. Tucker was in the United States Navy and a member of the American Legion.  
Other survivors include a son, Craig Tucker and wife Amy of Pratt; two daughters, Cathie Haberman and husband Chris of Great Bend and Karen Weaver of St. John; a sister, Barbara McKinzie of Pensacola, Fla.; step-mother Dorothy Tucker of St. John; sister-in-law Della Tucker of St. John; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Rance, Christi, Calan, Shelby, Harley, Catie, Bryna, Audrey, Gannon, and Callie; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Gary Tucker.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Minnis Chapel in St. John with Rodney Lyons presiding. Burial will follow at the Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John. Memorials may be given to AWANA Club or Joy Club in care of the funeral home.
