ELLINWOOD — James “Jimmy” Helfrich, 54, passed away in Ellinwood, KS on July 10, 2019. He was born to parents Butch Helfrich & Juanita (Scheuerman) Gann on September 13, 1964. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, he graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1983 where he loved to play football even winning the “Jim Brown” Award at the high school. Mr. Helfrich worked as a farmer in the Ellinwood area. 

Survivors include father, Butch Helrich, Ellinwood, KS; mother, Juanita Gann, Great Bend, KS; and sister, Tammy Helfrich, Great Bend, KS. Other survivors included numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday July 19th at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Memorials are suggested to USD 355 Athletic Dept. in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
