WICHITA — Janell Lynette Carr (Fleske), 36, passed away Friday, Feb. 17th, after battling cancer for several years. She was born on Dec. 16th, 1986 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend, Kan. She is survived by her daughter Zaylee Carr; parents Alfred and Liz Fleske of Larned, Kan.; and Diana Fleske of Wichita, Kan.; and grandmother, Margaret Sell of Woodward, Okla. Janell married Sergio Carr (Wichita Kan.), on Nov. 16th, 2006, but they divorced in February of 2015. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Rena Fleske of Larned and Bud Sell of Woodward, Okla. 

Janell has several siblings, Rodney Erwin (Gardner Kan., wife Suzanne), Alisha Guerra (Goddard Kan., husband Rick), Jennifer Leiker (Wichita Kan., husband Anthony), and Jedidiah Fleske (Larned, Kan., wife, Danielle). Janell was a fully devoted mother and loving aunt to several nieces Emily and Jacey Erwin, Ella, Ava, and Lainey Fleske, and Aria Guerra.

Janell had a passion for Christ and her daughter. She received her Master’s degree in Special Education at Southwestern College, all while raising her daughter and fighting cancer. For the past 13 years, she’s been a Special Education Teacher and was deeply loved by her students and staff at McLean and Jackson Elementary Schools. Janell attended Northside Church of Christ and Westlink Church of Christ, Wichita Kan.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of life will be held at Northside Church of Christ in Wichita Kan., 4545 N Meridian Ave. on Saturday, Feb. 25th at 10:30 a.m.

Janell has requested cremation and in lieu of flowers, memorials sent to Club Hope, Northside Church of Christ, or Promedica Home Health and Hospice.
