LARNED — Janice Boyd, 83, passed away Thursday morning Dec. 15, 2011 at Sapulpa, Okla. with daughter Heather at her side.
Mrs. Boyd was born Janice Lou Dundas Jan. 22, 1928 in Osage City, the daughter of Ned and Ethel (Hanson) Dundas.
She attended both Bethany and Sterling Colleges where she studied music. In 1952, she married Edward Boyd of Larned and ably took up the roll as wife and mother on their Pawnee County farm. She gave piano and voice lessons and brought her musical talents to her church and various performances in the community.  Janice devoted much to the Methodist Church singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and working with Methodist Youth Fellowship.
She was a member of the Larned Music Club and Prairie Arts Unlimited, serving a term as president for each. She was employed for several years at the Larned State Hospital in the area of music therapy. In 1976, she earned her degree in music therapy from the University of Kansas. She enjoyed her career in music therapy working with students and colleagues throughout the Pawnee County schools.
Survivors include a son Bruce, Hutchinson; a daughter Heather and her husband Patrick Graham, Tulsa, Okla. and their sons, Joshua Graham and Jesse Graham and his wife, Ellen.  She will also be missed by loving families of in-laws and their children extending from Alice Dundas, Great Bend; Lois (Boyd) Samuelson, Moscow Idaho; and Alice (Boyd) Robbins, Cincinnati Ohio, along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Boyd, her parents Ned and Ethel Dundas and siblings Patricia Frick, John Dundas and Jerry Dundas. 
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the First United Methodist Church, Larned with Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. 
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary.  Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
