Jeanine Carol Pettijohn, 49, died Sept. 16 in Great Bend. She was born Aug. 3, 1961, at Great Bend, the daughter of Morris Gray and Anna May (Smith) Ringo.

An outgoing bundle of emotion, an angel amongst us all, Jeanine (Mom as most knew her), spent a lifetime of putting smiles on people’s faces. Thank you, mother, and thank you God for blessing us with your beautiful angel. "God bless you, honey," as you most frequently said, we will all miss you and love you dearly. She lived, laughed, and loved 49 God-fearing years, filled with an over abundance of joy and hugs for all. Some of you may have been lucky enough to have her serve you in some of our local establishments such as Applebee’s, Ernie’s and Bird Express. There you were given the best personal service and heart-warming feelings, the kind you will remember forever. A beautiful woman who spent a lifetime taking care of her pride and joy, her lucky children and eight grandchildren.

She had been formerly married to Mark Pettijohn for 13 years.

Survivors include her mother, Anna Mae Smith of Little River; three siblings, Jesse Foster Jez of Texas, Julie Ann Cavender of Great Bend, and Sam T. Smith of Windom; four children who she loved very much, one son, Michael David Ringo and wife Ambra, of Great Bend, and three daughters, Kristi Rose Ringo and fiancé Eric Smith, of Great Bend, Tia Elete Pettijohn of Eucha, Okla., and Sarah Jeanine Pettijohn and fiancé Joseph McNett, of Dodge City; and grandchildren Michael Jr., Denver May, Harley, Haleigh, Brady, Braleigh, Tray and Cera.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle and Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to the Jeanine Carol Pettijohn Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
