Jerry D. Sieker 1949 - 2014

Jerry D. Sieker, 65, passed away in Great Bend on June 30. He was born on Jan. 17, 1949 in Great Bend, to Harry (Jr) and Wanda Sieker. He graduated from Ellinwood High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He was a lifelong resident of Barton County, making a living as a farmer and mechanic. Jerry was well known in the area for being one of the best mechanics around. He married Marcia (Doherty) Sieker on July 25, 1975 in Ellinwood and was a member of the Lutheran Church in Ellinwood. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Sieker, Jr. and sister, Vicki Curtis.
He is survived by wife of almost 40 years; sons, Kevin (Beth) Sieker, Kansas City, Mo,  Kyle (Kalyn) Sieker, Manhattan; daughters, Kimberly (Dallas) Klepper, Council Grove, Kelci (Kevin) Hall, Larned; brother, Kenny (Teresa) Sieker, Ellinwood; sister, Donna (Bob) Long, Ellinwood; and grandchildren, Klaire Hall and Lydia Klepper.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., July 3, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Jeff Frakes presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Wednesday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials may be made to Ellinwood EMS or St. John CDC in care of Minnis Chapel.
