LYONS — Jerry Lynn Treaster, 60, died April 19, 2012, in Wichita.
He was born April 8, 1952 at Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Glenn L. and Dorothy M. Atwell Treaster.
He was a Lyons resident since 1984. He was retired from the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was an employee of the Rice County Detention Center.
Jerry married Kathleen “Kitty” Arnold March 10, 1979 at Carson City, Nev. He was U.S. Army and National Guard veteran and a member of the Hoisington VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Kitty, of the home; two sons, Brian Treaster and wife Cassie, Alden; Jason Treaster and fiancee Jen Selby, Hutchinson; his mother, Dorothy Christensen, Lyons; a brother, Richard Treaster and wife Terry, Lyons; and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Rieley, Breanna, Peytonn, Spencer, Brynn and Jocelyn.   
He was preceded in death by his father Glenn; a brother Lewis Treaster; a stepfather, Herbie Christensen and his grandparents.
A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at First Christian Church, Lyons, with Rev. Ron DeVore and Rev. Loy Hoskins officiating. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jerry’s Grandchildren’s Education Fund in care of the Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
