Jerry Lee "Elvis" Farmer Sr., 55 of Great Bend, died Sept. 21 at Promise Regional Hospital in Hutchinson. Born March 21, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of Benjamin Hulon and Floy Jean (Waggoner) Farmer. On Dec. 21, 1984, he married Deborah Wintholz in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend for 28 years, coming from Harrison, Ark., he was a CNA for Larned Healthcare.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Farmer, of the home; three sons, Brandon Foster and wife Abby, Aaron Hollister and companion Kimberly Guerra, all of Overland Park, and Nicholas Farmer of Great Bend; a daughter, Amy Lamb and husband Charlie of Great Bend; his mother, Jean Stratton of Oswatomie; four sisters, Debbie Wilson and husband Mike of Oswatomie, Ruthie Smith of Eldorado, Ark., Linda Cargle of Olathe, and Kathy Eason and husband Les of McDougle, Ark.; two brothers, Gene Farmer and wife Heidi of Russellville, Ark., and Billy Farmer and wife Shelly of Great Bend; and three grandchildren, Paige Lamb, Ellie Lamb and Anistyn Foster. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Randy Farmer and Larry Farmer; and a sister, Shirley Diane Beadsley.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Robinson officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Jerry L. Farmer Expense Fund in care of the funeral home.
