WICHITA — Joann M. “Jodie” Bieberle, 77, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, January 30, while surrounded by her family at her home in Wichita.
She was born July 5, 1937, in Beaver, the daughter of William and Theresa Meyeres. Joann retired from Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend after 34 years of service as an insurance billing administrator and later moved to Wichita where she had been a resident since 2008. Her hobbies included sewing, shopping, puzzles and gardening. Joann was an avid supporter of her grandkids’ activities and very devoted to her faith. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clarence Bieberle; and her brothers, Urban, Jim and Ken Meyeres. She is survived by children, Kathy Messner (Stan), Rick Bieberle (Sherrie), Sandi Denning (Larry) all of Wichita, Jan Schugart (Rex) and Lori Keenan (Eric) all of Olathe; sisters, Aileen Reichuber of Hutchinson, Jan Murray and Jane Bahr both of Great Bend; grandchildren, Sarah Van Asdale, Ty Schugart, Jordan Bieberle, Matt Denning, Ryan Schugart, Andy Denning, Malik Bieberle and Jacob Keenan.
A rosary and viewing will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, and funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will follow at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend and burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Joann was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. A memorial has been established with the Divine Mercy Shrine, in care of Richard Bieberle. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
