ELLINWOOD — John C. Hanne, age 70, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022 at the KU. Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born on April 6, 1951 in Wichita, Kan. He was the son of Robert and Frances (Rogers) Hanne. John was an Ellinwood resident for one year, and a Las Vegas resident for 30 years.

He served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the American Legion and loved his motorcycle. 

Survivors include his three daughters, Shonda (Shane) Sowers, Salina, Kan., Sherry (Scott) Marcic, Great Bend, Kan., Francesca (David) Hanne, Las Vegas, Nev.; brothers, Frank (Wendy) Wasson, Mesa, Ariz., David Wasson, Ill., Roger Wasson, Texarkana, Texas, Wayne Wasson and Robin Hanne; sister, Leah Davis, Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren Ethan, Leah, Salem and five grand-pups.  

Graveside service will be Saturday, May 7th at 10 a.m. at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, Kan. Memorials for John can be made out to Minnis Chapel to assist with funeral expenses in care of Minnis Chapel, 113 N. Main St, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
