ELLINWOOD — John Calvin Voth, 83, died Sept. 30 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. Born Nov. 11, 1926, in Ellinwood, he was the son of J. Milo and Esther Schermuly Voth. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, he was self-employed as an upholsterer and shoe repairman in Ellinwood. On July 17, 1946, he married Eileen Ecker in Marion.

Mr. Voth served in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Lions Club, all of Ellinwood.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Jan Voth of Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Joan Voth of Great Bend and Jacque Gegen of Wichita; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by two sons, John and Jim Voth.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Emergency Medical Services, the Ellinwood Library Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
