GREAT BEND — John Edwin Taylor, 85, died Feb. 27, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
Born Nov. 3, 1928 in Great Bend, he was the son of Thomas Richard and Goldie (Asher) Taylor. On March 24, 1957, he married Elaine Hooper in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. She died on Aug. 30, 2013.
A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was the owner and operator of Walnut Hill Feeders and Taylors Toys. He raised and enjoyed showing championship Hereford cattle.
Mr. Taylor was a United States Army Reserve veteran. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.  
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Taylor, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Nathan Billings and Elizabeth Billings; and a great-grandchild, Nora Billings.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Phyllis Brannon Flory officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
