NEKOMA — John F. Jones, 85, died Dec. 8 at the Rhode Island Suites in Ransom. Born June 27, 1925, in Cromwell, Okla., he was the son of Herbert and Lenora (Hibbard) Jones. He was a 1943 graduate of Stafford High School. A resident of rural Nekoma for more than 50 years, moving from Stafford, he was an agent for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company and a farmer before his retirement.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include a sister, Zula Fern "Dude" Smith of San Marcos, Calif.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Jones, and a sister, Blanche Perry.

Funeral service was at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse with Pastor Ed Jumper officiating. Burial was at the Stafford Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Rhode Island Suites in Ransom.
