LARNED – John Mariche Perez, 67, died March 31 at his home in Larned. Born March 2, 1944, at Dodge City, he was the son of Clemente Rincon and Lucille Mariche Perez. A lifetime resident of the Edwards and Pawnee County area, he was a Licensed Mental Health Technician at the Larned State Hospital. On Aug. 16, 1969, he married Mary Lynn Stejskal at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Mr. Perez was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Other survivors include four daughters, Angela Sculley of Leavenworth, Rebecca Perez of Denver, Colo., and Misty Perez and Kristy Perez, both of Larned; a son, Shawn Perez of Great Bend; two sisters, Nora Sanders and Linda Garcia, both of Larned; six brothers, Lupe Perez, Tony Perez, Raymond Perez and Terry Perez, all of Larned, Manuel Perez of Salina, and Felix Perez of Pawnee Rock; 12 grandchildren and one great–grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Trina Ruiz and Jane Bronson; and two brothers, Peter Perez, and Frank Perez.
Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Burial will be at the Larned City Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the John Perez Medical Expense Fund in care of the funeral home.
