CIMARRON — Johnna Franks, 65, died Oct. 8, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. Born Nov. 1, 1948, in Independence, she was the daughter of Johnnie and Norma (Marlett) Carroll. She graduated high school in Fredonia. She was a convenience store manager for 30 years. On June 28, 1970, she married Larry Franks in Fredonia. She and Larry moved to Cimarron from Great Bend, and spent the last three years RVing full time. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards.
Mrs. Frank was a member of the Great Bend Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband Larry of Cimarron; two sons, Alex Franks and wife Melissa, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Johnnie Franks of Sedan; two daughters, Sharon Hoskinson and husband Shannon, and Kim Becker and husband Bobby, all of Cimarron; a brother, Jim Carroll and wife Betty, of Great Bend; her aunt, Helena Dalton of Fredonia; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Mo., with the Rev. Chris Deines officiating. There will be viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Cimarron. Burial will be at the Wilburn Cemetery in Nevada, Mo.
