ELLINWOOD — Jonathan Allan Scheuerman, 34, passed away on Nov. 2, 2015, in Lyons. Born Nov. 1, 1981, in Great Bend, he was raised in Ellinwood later moving to Lyons in 2013. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 2000 and later received his Associate Degree from Barton County Community College. Jonathan worked at Ellsworth Correctional Facility as a correctional officer for 11 years and previously worked at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood.
Survivors include his mother, Merletta Scheuerman; companion of 10 years, Carisa Melia; brother Michael Scheuerman; sister Krystal Schartz (Seth); niece, Avery Schartz and many friends and family left behind. He is preceded in death by grandparents Merle and Elvira Scheuerman.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m., with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m., on Friday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the “Jonathan Scheuerman Memorial Fund” in care of the funeral home.
