Judith “Judy” Pfiester, 74, passed away May 26, 2021, at Azria Health Great Bend. She was born November 30, 1946, at Salina, to Nyle & Vivian (Erickson) Sarff. She married Richard Lohmeyer and they later divorced. She then later married Darwin Pfiester May 27, 1980, at McPherson. He died August 24, 2010. 

A current Great Bend resident, Judith had previously lived in Washington Co., Larned, Salina and McPherson. She was a communications dispatcher for Washington County Sheriff’s Office and McPherson Police Department. She enjoyed People magazine, home decorating and home improvement shows. She loved cats and horses. Judith was the 1980 Rodeo Queen of the Washington County Fair.  

Survivors include, four sons, John Lohmeyer and wife Donna of Pensacola, Fla., David Pfiester of Minneapolis, and twins, Daniel Pfiester and wife Jennifer of Great Bend, and Duane Pfiester of Superior, Neb.; five grandchildren, Natasha Stone, Darwin Pfiester, Deianira Pfiester, Frisco Pfiester, and Joseph Pfiester; and seven great-grandchildren, Akira Stone, Tucker Stone, Ezekiel Stone, Jace Pfiester, William Pfiester, Claire Pfiester and Violet Pfiester. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Darwin Pfiester. 

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Brantford, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
