Judy C. (Wagner Brough) Thornton, 70, passed away from cardiac arrest April 10, 2016 in Wichita. Born Dec. 29, 1945, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of John A. Wagner and Margie Giltner. She married and divorced Jim Brough Sr. They remained friends. A lifelong resident of Great Bend she worked at Central Kansas Medical Center for 15 years and managed Fun Time Bingo for 20 years. She loved singing in Sweet Adelines and in her church choir at Central Baptist Church since 1987. She enjoyed family reunions, spending time with grandkids, and her Bingo family.
Survivors include her father, John A. Wagner (Viola), of Great Bend; a daughter Mary McLendon of Oakland, Calif.; four sons, Tom Brough (Tina) of Wichita, Rick Brough (Sherrie) of Winfield, Frank Brough (Cheslea) of Kinsley, and Jimmy Brough Jr (Roxy dog), of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Taryn Brough, Alicia, Nicholas, and Christopher Ritchie, Elizabeth Buck, all of Wichita, and Amanda McLendon of Hawthorne, Calif.; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Patty (Galen) Stallbaumer, of Topeka, Mark (Alma) Wagner, Matt Wagner, Axtel, Mary “Mimi” (Butch) Krouse, Basehor, Rick (Khrista) Branson, Ashland, Vicki Ellis, all of Wichita, and Elsie (Jeff) Darr of Great Bend; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; brother Mike (Jolene) Wagner; and sister Kathy Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday April 23, at Central Baptist Church, 3301 Lakin Avenue in Great Bend. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church.
