GUYMON, Okla. — Judy Kay Prather, 57, of Guymon, Okla., passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 7, at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon. The daughter of Michael Ross and Othilia Bertha (Bender) Prather, she was born June 10, 1955, in Great Bend. She attended the Countryside school, as well as the Laverne and Keyes, Okla., schools, graduating from Keyes High School with the Class of 1974.
Judy worked for 17 years at McDonalds and then six years at the Dunaway Manor.
She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her mother, Tillie Prather of the home; one sister, Barbara Walton and husband William of Perry, Okla.; brother-in-law, Jerry McLaughlin of Woodward, Okla.; two nephews: Ross Andrew McLaughlin and wife Kasie of Edmond, Okla., and Kurt Walton of Perry, Okla.; and two nieces, Erin Margaret McLaughlin of Tulsa, Okla., and Dorothy Walton of Perry, Okla. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Prather on Dec. 3, 2012, and one sister, Mary McLaughlin.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guymon with the Rev. Mark Wescoatt officiating. Interment followed in the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Guymon Chapter of Circle of Friends.
