Julia Ann Barnes, 54, died May 16, at her home in Great Bend. Born July 4, 1960, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of James R. Jr., and Joyce L. (Mohr) Lofland. On Nov. 14, 1981, she married Jeff Barnes in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was employed in retirement plan management at CPI Qualified Plan Consultants for more than 15 years. She had a great love of quilting.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of Grace Community Church, where she served on the finance team. She formerly was a member of Central Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors include husband, Jeff Barnes, of the home; parents, James, Jr. and Joyce Lofland of Great Bend; two daughters, Jessica Barnes of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jaime Barnes of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Jerry Lofland and his wife Paige of Great Bend; three sisters, Janna Huschka and her husband Kurt of Hutchinson, Jill Hopper and her husband Derrel of Arvada, Colo., and Jacqueline Goosen and her husband LoWayne of Freeman, S.D.; one sister-in-law, Karen Lofland of Great Bend; and 32 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Lofland.
Memorials services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Grace Community Church in Great Bend with Pastor Jon Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Star of Hope, in care of the funeral home.
