HAYS — June Arlene McFann, 84, Hays, died Dec. 12, 2014 at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.
She was born March 8, 1930 in Great Bend, the daughter of Calvin and Elsie (Sayler) Rogers. She spent most of her life living in Albert and Great Bend, moving to Hays to be near family in 2010. She worked at her dad’s gas station in Pawnee Rock and drove a school bus and did custodial work for the Otis-Bison school district. She attended St. Rose Dominican Nursing School in Great Bend and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Albert and volunteered with the fire department. She also did volunteer work with her church, the food bank, and with the Barton County Historical Society.
Her hobby was knitting and she donated countless stocking caps and shawls. She was also talented in cross stitch and painting, selling many paintings over the years.
Survivors include four sons, Dean McFann and wife Marilyn, Scott City; Clay McFann and wife Heather. Rozel; Glen McFann, Rozel; and Hoyt McFann, Great Bend; three daughters, Marsha Bouker and husband Ed, Hays; Susan Brown, Greeley, Colo.; and Julie Lange and husband Bill, Baraboo, Wis.; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale Rogers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, all at the funeral home.
