DES MOINES, Iowa — Keith A. Peters, 65, died Jan.10 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Born Jan. 3, 1947, he was the son of Tillman and Beulah Christine Barr Peters in Ransom. He was a 1965 graduate of Utica High School and attended Greer Automotive Technical School. A lifetime farmer and avid gardener, he retired from the United States Postal Service.

Mr. Peters served in the United States Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Deterding and husband Brian, of Whitewater; brother Bruce Peters and wife Linda, of Lakin; two grandsons, Brady and Brock Deterding; three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bryce Scott Peters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson with Pastor Karen Dalke presiding. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Utica Cemetery in Utica. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Keith A. Peter’s memorial fund, in care of the funeral home.
