Kenneth E. Hanhardt 1925 - 2016

BISON — Kenneth E. Hanhardt, 90, died June 20, 2016, at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. Born July 15, 1925, in rural Bison, he was the son of Clarence C. and Ella E. (Gillig) Hanhardt. In 1943 he graduated from Bison High School. On July 30, 1949, he married Delores J. Michaelis at the Baptist Church in Bison. A lifelong resident of Rush County, he was a farmer.
Mr. Hanhardt was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the former Baptist Church in Bison.
Survivors include his wife, Delores J. Hanhardt of Bison; one son, Steven Hanhardt of Great Bend; one daughter Debra Wilson, and husband, Craig, of Sedalia, Colo.; two grandchildren, Cody Wilson, and Kelly Lambert; six great-grandchildren, James Lambert, Jonathan Lambert, Jesse Lambert, Sydney Wilson, Brooke Wilson, and Conner Wilson; and one brother, Robert Hanhardt of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Hanhardt; and one sister, Evelyn Bussart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse. Interment will be at the Baptist Cemetery in Bison. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Sunflower Diversified Services, Inc., or the donor’s choice.
