SHAWNEE — Kenneth "Kenny" J. Mauler, 75, of Shawnee, Kan., passed away May 5, 2018, at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m,. Friday, May 11 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m., at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W 75th St, Shawnee, KS 66216. Burial will be held in Great Bend, Kan. at a later date.
Ken was born March 19, 1943, in Great Bend, Kan., to Frank and Magdalene (Gleissner) Mauler.
Ken was united in marriage to Marilyn Reichuber on April 20, 1963, and was married to her until her death April 23, 1994. He was married to Patty Stagner from May 20, 1995, until her death Nov. 9, 2015.
He was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church since moving to Shawnee, Kan., in 1986. He enjoyed being a hospital minister at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and at CKMC in Great Bend. He was employed by Gibson, Titus and Stafford in Great Bend as a diesel mechanic for several years before moving to Shawnee in 1986. After moving to Shawnee, he was employed by KCR International, Kansas City, Mo. until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ken enjoyed camping, gardening and polka dancing. He was a skilled mechanic, woodworker and could fix anything. He never met a stranger and always had stories to tell.
Ken is preceded in death by his wives; his parents; and infant grandsons Jacob and Isaac Linn. He is survived by his three daughters Sandy Mauler and husband Craig Apgar of Phoenix, Ariz., Sonya Linn and husband John of Hoyt, Kan. and Sheila Metoyer and husband Louis III of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; grandchildren Derek Linn, Erika Linn and Quintin Metoyer; sister Shirley Koochel and husband John of Great Bend, Kan.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and many good friends.
