Kenneth Neil Ellegood 1935 - 2015

 OAKLEY — Kenneth Neil Ellegood, died on Oct. 1, 2015, at his home in rural Osborne county. Born Aug. 30, 1935, in Monument, he was the son of Robert and Alice (Everley) Ellegood. On June 2, 1963, he married Beverly Elaine Winder. In 1954 he graduated from Oakley High School. He then attended Kansas State University and transferred to Fort Hays State University where he graduated in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree and in 1969 with a Masters in Counseling. He was a teacher and coach at Stockton and later a counselor and teacher at Abe Hubert Junior High School and Kenneth Henderson Middle School in Garden City, retiring in 1994.
Mr. Ellegood served in the United States Army from 1958 -1959.
Other survivors include, four sons, Tate Ellegood of Hays, Michael Ellegood of Hutchinson, Robbie Ellegood of Ellsworth, and Myron Ellegood of Great Bend; a daughter, Lisa Schroeder of Russell; three brothers, Keith Ellegood and Ben Ellegood, both of Oakley and Wayne Winder of Viola; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alice Ellegood; and infant son, Kenton Wayne Ellegood.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Oakley Cemetery in Oakley. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
