ELLINWOOD — Kimberly Ann (Moore) Schlotthauer, 62, passed away at Hutchinson Regional Hospital on Feb. 23, 2023.  Born in Lyons, Kan., on Nov. 18, 1960 she was the daughter of Alvis and Carol (Cole) Moore. Kimberly was a longtime Ellinwood resident formerly of Lyons, Chase, and Stafford. She worked as a CBS Support aid where she advocated for children and numerous jobs around the community in addition to volunteering for Jaycee’s organization. Kimberly married David Schlotthauer on Nov. 1, 2008 in Ellinwood.  She cherished moments with family especially watching grandchildren’s sporting events. Kim enjoyed reading, bingo, pitch, and loved the Cowboys. 

Survivors include husband, David Schlotthauer; children, Mike Nienke (Jayne), April Beals (CJ), Trent Schlotthauer (Audrey), Falisha Simpson (Jason), and Tasha Manring; sister, Amber Petz (Chad); niece, Lauren Petz; nephew, Cole Petz; grandchildren, Makenze Myers, Brandi Beals, Caid Beals, Emma Nienke, Brittany Simpson, Landon Simpson, Aiden Schlotthauer, Brayden Schlotthauer; and great-grandchild, Raelynn Lefort. She was preceded in death by her parents and in laws Ronald & Ramona Schlotthauer.

Celebration of life is scheduled 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Minnis Chapel, Ellinwood. Visitation with family present will be Monday, Feb. 27 from 3 - 6 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Ellinwood. Inurnment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Center for Counseling in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
