Larry Gene Schenk, 57, died Oct. 17, 2021, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born Feb. 10, 1964, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Donald D. “Shorty” and Karlene K. (Kraus) Schenk. Larry graduated from Great Bend High School.

A Great Bend resident, formerly of Olmitz, Larry had worked for Stoneridge Golf Course. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Olmitz.

He is survived by his mother, Karlene K. Schenk of Ellinwood; sister, Sheryl Hickel and husband Jim of Claflin; brother, Randy Schenk of Great Bend; and nephew, Dylan Hickel of Claflin. He was preceded in death by his father, Shorty Schenk; and brothers, Darrell and Ronald Schenk.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29, 2020, at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Olmitz. Friends may sign the book now until service at the funeral home. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Larry Schenk Memorial Fund in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
