HOISINGTON — Laura Jean Barlow, 73, passed away Sept. 10, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. She was born on Sept. 14, 1947, in Great Bend, to Rueben and Beth “Babe” (Boxberger) Michaelis. She married Ronald V. Barlow on Oct. 16, 1966, in Hoisington. He died June 26, 2016.
A lifetime Hoisington resident, Laura was a cosmetologist at Nu-Wave Hair Salon. Laura was very proud of her work and always needed her hair and nails to look professional. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the church choir. Laura enjoyed cooking and always had the best recipes to share with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include, a son, Brooke Barlow of Wichita; a daughter, Jessica Campbell of Hoisington; four grandchildren, Savannah Sidebottom, Taylor Spresser, Rylie Campbell, and Peyton Campbell; and three great grandchildren, Graham Spresser, Brynk Sidebottom and Boyd Sidebottom.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, with Rhonda Templing, PMA, presiding. Memorials have been designated to the Laura Barlow Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
