PAWNEE ROCK — Laura Jean Miller, 86, passed away Oct. 9, at her home in Pawnee Rock. Born June 19, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the daughter of Horace B. and Laura Crawford Rogers. On April 28, 1992, she married Edward W. Miller in Littleton, Colo. He passed away on Nov. 27, 2008. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Great Bend and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include, two sons, Howard Hayward and wife, Dora, of Pawnee Rock and Michael Hayward, of Washington, Utah; four daughters, Linda Hill of Clinton, Mo., Deborah Lovelace and husband Barry, of Joshua, Texas, Donna Jacklin and husband Milton, and Ada Farnsworth and husband La Raine, both of Central, Utah; a step-daughter, Maureen Armstrong, of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Robert Miller; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and George Rogers; and four sisters, Barbara Weston, Donna Johnson, Margaret Tyler and Ann Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Bishop Benjamin Bates presiding. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
