Lenora M. “Foots” Matney, 79, of Great Bend and formerly of Pawnee Rock passed away on Monday afternoon, Nov. 11 at her home in Great Bend.  Lenora was born on April 11, 1934 at Boise City, Okla. to Lewis F. and Geneva May (Merwin) Raybern.  She spent the earlier part of her life in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, except for the eight years they lived in Pueblo, Colo. Lenora moved to Great Bend from the Texas panhandle in 1967.  
She was united in marriage to Roy A. Matney on Aug. 10, 1979 at Woodward, Okla. Lenora worked as a waitress. She worked for several years at Larned State Hospital first in the Custodial Department, and then as an aide, where she became certified as a mental health technician. She retired in 1983 and did foster parenting and respite foster care from 1999 to 2003 for Youthville. Lenora was a member of The United Church of God. She spent a lot of her later life as caregiver for her grandsons Daelin and Morgan.
Survivors include three daughters: Donita “Dee” (and husband, Ivan) Barr of Great Bend, Ramona “Mona” (and husband, Lonnie) Crotinger of Dodge City, and Lenora “Jeannie” Triplett of Great Bend; her special “daughter” Tamie Thomas of Great Bend; one son, Ronald A. “Ron” Clark of Seward; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Roy A. Matney on Aug. 10, 1988), two children (Steven Triplett and Geneva Marie Barnett), two sisters (Anna May Kramer and B.B. Strickert), and one brother (Sam Raybern).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Charter Funerals with Pastor Curtis Reinhardt officiating.  Interment will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery at Pawnee Rock. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with a flower reading at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be designated in care of the family.
