HUTCHINSON — Leonard E. Robinson, 79, died Aug. 14, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Born April 3, 1937, in Great Bend, he was the son of Winfred E. and Beulah (Booker) Robinson. Leonard was a member of the Bakery Confectioner’s Union. He worked for Betts Bakery, later known as Rainbow Bakery, for 27 years and Hutchinson Community College for two years.
On July 31, 1998, he married Nina J. (Gray) Jackson in Hutchinson. They shared over 30 years together.
He is survived by: wife, Nina of the home; son, Leonard Robinson Jr. of Wichita; stepsons, Kory Jackson and wife Amanda and their four children of Hutchinson; Mike Jackson and wife Brittany and their two children of Olathe; brother, Clarence Robinson of Oakland, Calif.; sisters, Delores Davies of Great Bend, Virginia Cheeks of Hutchinson, Edna Jones of Great Bend, Mary Ann Pennington, Irene Cross, both of Los Angeles, Calif., Bernice Gray of Great Bend, Betty Brandon of Flint, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie Robinson; and two infant siblings.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Amy Claassen officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, in care of the mortuary.
