PLAINVILLE — LeRoy A. Wessel, 64, died March 29, 2016, in Hays. Born March 28, 1952 in Axtell, he was the son of Raymond and Mary (Brucken) Wessel. On Nov. 25, 1977, he married Julia Rogers in Stockton. He was a Senior Field Supervisor for Kansas Fishing Tool, Inc. of Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Wessel of the home; four daughters, Kimberly Wessel, Lori Wessel and Michele Wessel, all of Plainville and Nicole Wessel of Denver, Colo.; a brother, John Wessel of Plainville; four sisters, Ruth Appelhanz, Mary Jane Dennis and Arlene Evan, all of Topeka and Marjorie Andrew of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law Charles Rogers.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 p.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral ho me and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. A Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Church or the Knights of Columbus in care of the funeral home.
