Lila Drees was born on July 8, 1950, in Great Bend, Kan., to Edwin and Ruth Krueger Fischer. She was a talented artist and loved being around family and friends. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Lila’s warmth, sense of humor, and beautiful smile will be missed by the many hearts she’s touched.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ricky Fischer, and her loving husband, Tony Drees.
Lila leaves behind three sisters, Janet Fischer Sutherland of Dallas, Texas, Janice Fischer Rose of Great Bend, Kan., Judy Fischer of Reno, Nev.; four sons, Shawn and wife Flavia Dasilva-Farris of Clermont, Fla., Marc and wife Lynne Drees of Moyock, N.C., Brad and wife Connie Drees of Wellsville, Kan., Mitch Drees of Brookville, Kan., and seven grandchildren, Justin Drees, Emma Drees, Tate Drees, Riley Drees, Kaitlyn Myers, Keenan Drees, and Isabella Farris.
A memorial will be held at 10 a.m. on April 21st at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home, 842 SE Loop 7, Athens, TX, 75752. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Lila’s honor to a cancer charity of your choice.
