HOISINGTON — Linda S. (Monroe) Schlegel, 57, died Nov. 28 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born May 31, 1953, at Hoisington, the daughter of Glen Robert and Rosemary (Chambers) Monroe. She married Denton Schlegel on Oct. 27, 1972, at Hoisington. She was the owner of Schlegel Realty and a lifetime Hoisington resident.

Mrs. Schlegel was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Church Council, a life member of VFW Post 7428 and American Legion Post 286 auxiliaries, Chamber of Commerce, Breast Cancer Support Group, and a past member of Rainbow Girls, all of Hoisington. She was also a member of the Board of Realtors in Great Bend.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; one sister, Jeanette Clark and husband Ken of Shawnee; and an uncle, Dale Monroe and wife Dale of McCracken. Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, with the Rev. Kris Brinlee officiating. Interment will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and from 9:30 to service time Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Kans for Kids or First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
