Linda Sue (Cooper) Satterlee

LARNED — With her family by her side, Linda Sue (Cooper) Satterlee, 64, of rural Larned, and formerly of Great Bend and Macksville, went to see her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, July 22, 2013 at the Diversicare Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Larned after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 25, 1948 in Independence, Iowa to Albert M. and Edna (Baxter) Cooper. Linda graduated from Great Bend High School in 1966, after which she attended the Great Bend Academy of Beauty. She was united in marriage to Rodney D. Satterlee on Feb. 24, 1967 in Macksville. The couple lived in Gaeta, Italy, Charleston, S.C., and Hutchinson, prior to moving to Macksville, where they lived for around 30 years. They moved to rural Larned (formerly Zook) in 2001. Linda worked many years as a beautician, and also as an EMT and secretary/office manager. Beginning as a child and continuing through adulthood, Linda played the piano and/or organ at all churches she attended.
She was a member of the Eden Valley Church of the Brethren and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, music (especially playing the piano), cooking, and shopping. Linda will be remembered by her friends and family as a kind, giving, and compassionate person. She shared God’s word and love with anyone who would listen and was a friend to many. Linda had a special place in her heart for her chemo buddies and staff at the Great Bend Regional Medical Center and Cancer Center.
Linda is survived by her husband, Rodney D. Satterlee, rural Larned (Zook); a son, Troy and wife, Patricia “Trish,” Satterlee, Hoisington; a daughter, Trey Satterlee, McPherson; four grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Satterlee and Naomi and Nathan Cartmell; and a sister, Andra and husband Gary Bird of Larned. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Eden Valley Church of the Brethren, 502 NW 60th Street (Eden Valley Road), St. John, with Pastor Tom Harrison officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. It was Linda’s wishes that her body be cremated, and there will be no viewing or visitation.
The family suggests that memorials may be designated to the Eden Valley Church of the Brethren at St. John.  Online condolences may be left and a complete obituary notice may be viewed at http://www.charterfunerals.com/obituary/chgb.
