  GREENWELL SPRINGS, La. — Lisa Burks Strecker, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Greenwell Springs, passed away on Dec. 17, 2013 at the age of 55. She was known in the community for breeding and raising boer goats and livestock and being an active East Baton Rouge Parish 4-H club leader. Lisa was an amazing cook, but her true passion was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, John Nelson Strecker; mother, Linnie Burks; daughter, Katie Lauren Strecker; two sons, Joshua Abraham Vaughan and wife Kimberly, and John Christopher Strecker; sisters, Leslie Mitchell and husband Mike, and Genny Patterson; brothers, Michael Burks and wife Karrie, Shawn Burks and wife Jill, Greg Burks and wife Renea, Todd Burks, Chad Burks and wife Kim, and Perry Burks; one grandchild, Samantha Claire Vaughan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Burks; grandparents, John Spencer and Jessie Burks, and Linnie Paul and Adeline Gaudin; siblings, Brian Keith Burks and Lauren Louise Burks; and niece Danielle Elizabeth Prestridge.  
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, at Indian Mound Baptist Church in Greenwell Springs, La. from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences for the family.
