Lodema “Dee” Pelster, 81, died Oct. 12 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1932, at Parsons, the daughter of James LeRoy and Gertrude  (Bennett) Garrett. She married Robert LeRoy Pelster Dec. 22, 1953, at Miami, Okla. He died Aug. 25, 1996. A Great Bend resident since 1953, coming from Cherryvale, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pelster was an avid reader, bowler and bingo player.  She enjoyed crocheting and most of all Elvis.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Pelster, Great Bend; two daughters, Vickie Clawson and her husband Galen, and Debbie Tucker and her husband Scott, both of Great Bend; two daughters-in-law, Frankie Pelster and Pam Pelster; three sisters, Barbara Logan, Cherryvale, and Kathy Eck and Pam Cook, both of Coffeyville; one brother, Lyle Garrett, Independence; 11 grandchildren, Mark Pelster Jr., April Pelster, Brian Dewberry, Brooke Pelster, Gwen Finnigan, Elizabeth Sander, Wayne Clawson, Tiffany Tucker, Jennifer Tucker, Sebastian Pelster and Tahcoa Pelster; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Mark Pelster, Robert Pelster Jr. and Ed Pelster; one daughter, Kim Pelster; one brother, Larry Garrett; and three sisters, Sherry Coppock, Lou Valverde and Betty Brock; one grandson, Michael Tucker; and one great-grandson, Trevor Pelster-Owens.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital of St. Louis, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
